Human Design for Career Development – Believer or Skeptic?

Human Design for Career Development – Believer or Skeptic?

Folks, I recently read an ON THE JOB article in the San Francisco Chronicle, written by Chris Colin. The topic involved the Human Energy Design System, as yet “just another tool” in the career development arena.

SFGate FEATURES: Professionally adrift? Consult your inner neutrinos

My Response and Comment: I’M A BELIEVER! From one 5/1 to another, I’ve discovered enormous value in the study and experience of my design. Perhaps I was looking for answers to who I am versus who I was raised and conditioned to be.

ANSWERS COME FROM WITHIN, neutrino stream or not. Human Design for me, is a tool of empowerment and understanding, like MANY other tools available today. And, this one rocked my world!

If a tool supports one’s journey toward living passionately, assists in overcoming adversity and basically gives one piece of mind and a greater sense of well-being….WHO CARES how it’s communicated?

If it resonates, EMBRACE IT. If it doesn’t, DON’T. If you’re triggered by it, ASK WHY?

Speaking of parachutes, I’m reminded of the quote by Anthony J. D’Angelo, Founder of The Collegiate EmPowerment Company and creator of The Inspiration Book Series.

“Your mind is like a parachute. It only works if it is open.”

CALLING ALL TYPES IN THE WORLD! I’m informing you, inviting you and asking you to respond……

Well you go and “Toot Toot” that horn of yours girl…I agree with you completely. I was amazed at my Human Design Chart, it sure did explain a lot about me, and couldn’t have been more “dead on” as to who I am as a person and how I tick. I can’t possibly be more of a BELIEVER then I am and I thank you for introducing the Human Design to me. It has given me a foundation into understanding me and hopefully help others understand why I am the way I am, although as you know Ms. Rebel Belle…I really don’t give a hoot if they understand me or not, oh see there is that 1/3 all about me coming out. Thank you for introducing me into the world of the Human Design and I look forward to learning more.

  2. RebelBelle Says:

My dear bestest “bellefriend” Dena, Rebel Belle transplant from Staten Island, New York. You are the most “spot on” example of a Pure Manifestor I have EVER experienced. I love, love, love your bold and powerful ego identity. You rock my world! Thanks for sharing your world with me.

  3. Larry Reed Says:

When I first saw heard about Human Design, I was a complete skeptic similar to the writer. Possibly it was my career in the corporate world or simply my midwestern upbringing, there are plenty of places to look for answers if you enjoy that sort of thing. After my initial reading, my attitude shifted to surprise…how could this program have described me so well? There were things only I knew about myself that were revealed. That was a little frightening! However knowing my design and that of some of my friends has created a greater level of understanding and better relationships. Anytime I can know myself better and apply that knowledge to daily life, ease is created and that leads to freedom. For me, Human Design has simply made the journey more interesting and more enjoyable.

  4. April Says:

I agree with Larry. I definitely am skeptical of ANYTHING that can claim to “figure me out” in just a few steps. Unlike the vague generalizations of astrology or some other methods (which can be easy to believe if you’re feeble-minded and don’t see that they’re vague to lump you in with everyone else…), the human design chart confirmed some things I knew about myself AND crystallized some new things I hadn’t even considered. Thanks to you, Tuck, I am not only sure I’m a projector, but also newly aware of how I respond to situations because of my type. THANKS!

  5. RebelBelle Says:

Thank you Larry for your courage in embracing design. It’s fun being a “Composite Chart” with me isn’t it?!? I have to acknowledge that seeing the energy for what it is, and knowing “it’s not personal” has been a huge support for your ego, my lack of one, my emotional center and your lack of one. No doubt in my mind it has enlightened our relationship. We rock as a couple!

  6. RebelBelle Says:

Projector oh my Projector April!!! What would this 3 motors to the throat Emotional Manifesting Generator have done with out your fabulous guidance throughout this past year. OMG do I recognize your gifts as an illustrator, designer and “birther” of the Rebel Belle. I’m so glad I invited you to assist me with my graphics, design and assistance, and am blessed to have had you direct my energy. Thank you forever!

  7. Suzanne Bird-Harris Says:

    Tuck,

This Human Design stuff is completely new to me, but like the other commenters, I’m struck how accurate it is compared to what I already knew about myself, and DUMBFOUNDED at the things I’ve learned, and I’ve barely scratched the surface! I look at my chart I got from you and even though it’s still mostly mumbo-jumbo to me, there are pieces of it that jump out at me SCREAMING my name! For example, in the Fixation Themes, under Design in Detriment, it says, “Directness. The disregard of form when required. A tendency to create embarrassing situations, and though invariably successful, the often resulting reputation for crudity and impudence. The possibility that individual behaviour in social interaction will generate negative projections from others.”….girl - STORY OF MY LIFE! On the flip side, my Design exalted states, “The energy to attract society…the power and drive to stay with the creative process.” Yup, once again, that’s me!

Most importantly, what jumped out at me about my chart and your additional info via email that helps interpret it is that as a Manifestor, I need to inform before I act. Holy cow, if I had taken that to heart about 40 years ago, how much smoother my life would have been til now. LOL And it also explains my need to BE informed…I have ALWAYS, ALWAYS wanted to know what, where, when, why and how! ALWAYS. Drove my parents batty as a child, drives those close to me batty today! :) And don’t even get me started on how this has affected my relationships with me! Lordy!

So, the world can write Human Design off to more hocus-pocus if they want, but I, for one, will be learning as much as I can about it. (And, that should be no surprise, because my chart says I’m the teacher that never stops being a student.) :) :)

  8. Suzanne Bird-Harris Says:

God bless my typos, Tuck, but that sentence, “Don’t even get me started on how this has affected my relationships with me!” SHOULD have ended with MEN, not me, though, now that I think about it, that typo may have been a Freudian slip, as well. LOL

  9. Terri Lantz Says:

Tuck did my Human Deisgn reading about 3 years ago and my life was forever changed! I became very clear about my life’s purpose after my reading, and Human Design gave me the confidence in my business skills to leave a well-paying computer consultant job and become a full-time potter and small business owner. I opened a small art co-op two years ago with 10 member artists. This month we moved into a 5,000 sf building, we have over 30 artists and dealers, and we’re offering pottery and art classes in addition to retail sales. Its a dream come true!

Human Design made a huge difference in my relationship. Doing projects together was a nightmare. She’d get frustrated and angry with me when I’d go for a hammer and come back 30 minutes later because I noticed 3 other tasks that needed to be done along the way! After we learned that that’s my design (and hers is to be organized and follow the checklist), we can laugh about our differences and work together in ways where we can both stay stress-free and have fun.

Thank you Tuck, and thank you Human Design! Life is good!!

  10. Eunika Says:

Tuck did my human design as well and while I am not in complete agreement with the article; I have to admit I am still confused. I don’t know what it all means or even if I am supposed to know. Some of the things seemed to ring true–I am a manifest generator (i think) and i have some other interesting stuff going on…i just am not clear. I do believe that we all have a way to function and that some things work better for some of us than others. I think I need more information…ok…i don’t think it-i know i need more information….

What bothered me about the article was that it seemed like complete dismissal of the potential of what knowing yourself could do for you…I may not know but I remain open to the possibilities….

  11. Ann Seelye Says:

I think we should send this stream of comments to the comments section after the article to let that world meet this world. I love Human Design!! It has helped me understand and accept aspects of myself that were disturbing to me and that I thought were wrong with me which has allowed me to relax into greater ease and acceptance of whom I am. It’s a process that I am still in. As I experiment with my strategy of waiting to respond, I am seeing changes in what I am doing because I’m not going out and initiating. It has meant more time alone but I needed that. Knowing the design of my daughter and some close friends has really helped me support them in being who they are, not having expectations and not taking things personally. And it has helped them relax into who they are as well as I’ve told them some things about their design. These 3 I’m thinking about right now are 2 Manifestors and 1 Projector so to know their strategy has been very helpful to them. I think the uses of human Design are many and that it is very valuable.

  12. RebelBelle Says:

Suzanne…you crack me up..oh Emotional Manifestor that you are! It\’s a double whamy for you too with the 22/12 and the 36/35 to the throat. You are my kind of emotional \”bellefriend\”. I knew I liked you! Makes sense that with a li\’l guidance from Nancy Marnolejo\’s e-book as a Pure Manifestor you \”just did it\”. So well in fact she featured you in her follow up e-book Rock on!

A Rebel Belle Yell! to you Terri for all you’ve accomplished in Manifesting and Generating your dream! You are indeed a Role Model you are for others….yes?!? Thanks for your feedback on how life rocks when you squeeze the juice and live your design.

Oh Eunika…what fun we are going to have!! Your head and ajna configuration tell me you’re always open to being inspired. And, I love to inspire when it comes to the tool of human design. Let’s rock and roll…

My “bellefriend” Annie – you have investigated and embraced design as passionately as I have. We are kindred 5/1 spirits are we not?!? Now it’s time to universalize and tell the world….yes?!?

  13. Ann Seelye Says:

Yes, it’s time!!! I did a reading for barter yesterday and the woman asked if I had a brochure or something that she could hand to people because she thinks she knows some who would be interested. So I’m going to make up something for her. Love you!!!

  14. Chris Says:

I am a 5/1 ego manifestor also. I am new to this whole concept so I am not sure what it means other than:

Ego (Manifestor) Authority: none of the other definitions can be present in this kind of authority; the person with the Ego defined to the Throat Center uses “personal” will to decide what they want to manifest.
