Juicin’ and Crankin’ with Happiness - Part 1
Happiness for a reason is a form of misery, because the reason can be taken away from you at any time. To be happy for no reason – THIS is the happiness you want to experience.
~ Deepak Chopra
Many people seek HAPPINESS as a feeling that lives in some far off future, a goal to be obtained once a certain status is achieved or material possession is secured. “I will be happy when”, is the phrase that comes tripping off the tongue.
“I’ll be happy when I meet my soul-mate,” “I’ll be happy when my career takes off,” “I’ll be happy when I reach my weight goal.” These are external goals. And, while these goals may bring feelings of joy and happiness, these goals are transient.
Structures and forms are designed to change and transform; so will your mate, your career, and your physical structure. If you are attached to these forms, your happiness will be attached to them. I’d like to offer a perspective.
Ask yourself these questions:
• What is the feeling I experience from having these forms in my life?
• Do they make me feel secure, have a greater sense of value or feel more in control?
• Or does this experience bring peace of mind, freedom and a feeling of happiness?
