What a Blesson!!

I just made up a new word! In my meditation today, I was thinking back over my life — how awesome it is and how blessed I am. I have a great life, and the truth is, I’ve always had a great life.

At times. people have accused me of having it easy, and at times, I’ve believed them and even felt guilty about having what I want… so much that I began to question whether I really did have it easy.

In retrospect, I discovered it wasn’t about having things easy or not, it was about perspective. It was about how I viewed my circumstances. Life has thrown me many curves. Some might even call them crises. For some reason, I’ve just NEVER looked at them that way. It never occurred to me to think that my life was hard. I have chosen to look at “crises” as “opportunities.” I have chosen to look to each experience as a lesson and find the blessing in it. It is just my way.

It was like an epiphany for me. My new word is “BLESSON.” I don’t have crises in my life, I have blessons. I have blessings that come in the form of lessons.

How about you? Got blessons in your life? I’d love to hear about them if you’re willing to share.

I love your word… Blessons. My son (9 years old) and I list our blessings each night and sometimes it’s a “low blessing day” but we are going to add the blessons to our list tonight. It’s got a nice twist to the blessing list and maybe we can appreciate a few more things in our lives.
